The Moen Leak Protection Service is a monthly subscription program that offers premium leak protection for your home. The Leak Protection Service program includes the Flo Shutoff device, as well as additional benefits, including a continuous limited warranty for the length of your subscription, dedicated customer support, an exclusive 10% discount on all purchases you make through moen.com during your subscription period, as well as up to $5,000 in insurance deductible coverage if your Flo Shutoff fails to work as designed.¹

Leak detectors can sense moisture in specific areas of your home while water
monitors can identify leaks and measure water pressure through sensors on the
outside of your water line. However, neither of these products offers a way to proactively prevent water damage.

The Flo Shutoff is installed in line to monitor the pressure and flow rate of the water moving through your home’s pipes, offering water monitoring, leak detection and shutoff capabilities all in one device.

In-line installation means that the Flo Shutoff is installed on the main cold water supply line for your home, which requires removing a section of the water pipe.

The Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff is installed on the main cold water supply line, which typically enters your home through your garage, basement or an exterior wall. Since the Flo Shutoff is a precision-engineered device and installation requires removing a section of your main water pipe, this is considered an advanced project, so we recommend using a plumbing professional for installation.

Wi-Fi is required for full functionality and the Flo Shutoff will only operate under the 2.4GHz frequency range, which provides longer range connectivity compared to the 5GHz. However, if the device loses its connection, it will continue to protect your home. The Flo Shutoff stores the latest learnings locally, allowing it to continue safeguarding your home until the Wi-Fi connection is restored.

While the Flo Shutoff can prevent flooding caused by leaking pipes, fixtures or appliances, it cannot protect against flooding due to external environmental factors, like heavy rains, an overflowing sump pump or a leaky roof. However, the Smart Leak Detectors included in the Ultimate Protection and Enhanced Protection bundles sense moisture from these environmental factors to help you prevent widespread water damage.

While Moen collaborates with these Installers to offer professional installation, they operate solely as independent contractors. Moen does not control or supervise their work and is not responsible for their performance. There is no association, partnership, or joint venture between Moen and the Installers. Each Installer is responsible for ensuring they have the required skill, experience, and qualifications to perform the installation services. They are expected to perform their work in a professional and workmanlike manner, in line with generally recognized industry standards, and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This includes maintaining any necessary licenses, permits, and registrations required for installation. By purchasing installation services, you acknowledge that Moen does not perform the installation directly and agree to the use of an Installer selected by Moen. Installation services are available only in select regions and may not be offered in remote or hard-to-access areas, including certain island locations. Additionally, installation services may not be available at your home for other reasons at Moen’s or Installer’s ultimate discretion, such as limitations in the availability of third-party installers, specific plumbing system requirements, or other logistical challenges. If the installation service is unavailable at your address, this may prevent the completion of the installation portion of your order.
